Shirley BrownMemphis, TNShirley Brown, 82, of Memphis, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2017. She was born on November 5, 1934, to Grady and Mary Jones, in Gibson County, TN. Shirley was retired from Memphis City Schools and was a faithful nursery worker for over 40 years at both Ardmore Baptist Church and Crossroads Baptist Church in Arlington. She was preceded in death by her parents Grady and Mary Jones, a brother Billy R Jones, and a sister Joyce Koonce. Shirley is survived by her husband Robert Brown, her sons; Michael Brown, Mark Brown (Diane), her daughter; Lee Ann Frazier (Dan), two brothers; Bobby and Gene Jones, her seven grandchildren; Daniel Frazier, Katherine Frazier, Abigail Frazier, Brian Gamblin (Jennifer), Brittany Gamblin, Pierce Brown, and Anna Brown, as well as two great-grandchildren; James and Brianna Gamblin. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm, until service time at 2 pm, on Thursday, June 1, 2017, with interment to follow, all at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd., Bartlett, TN 38133. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be sent to Crossroads Baptist Church 6601 Austin Peay Hwy, Arlington, TN 38002.
