Rose Marie (Snow) Martinson, 78St. CloudJune 25, 1938 - November 29, 2016Rose passed away on November 29th, 2016 at the age of 78 years after a 7 year struggle with PSP. Rose Marie (Snow) Martinson, the daughter of Charles and Emily (Olsen) Snow was born on June 25th, 1938 in Roseau, MN. She grew up on a farm in Falun Township southeast of Roseau. Rose attended school at 36 West (a one room school house) and graduated from Roseau High School 1956. She later attended Moorhead State University where she received an Associate in Arts degree. Rose married Richard Martinson of Detroit Lakes on June 17th, 1963 at St. Philip's Catholic Church in Falun Township, eventually moving to St. Cloud and raising a family there.Rose was very active in volunteer work at St. Augustine's Catholic church where she worked the information desk as well as spent 14 years coordinating home delivered meals. She was a very accomplished seamstress sewing everything from wedding dresses to full size sail boat sails. Rose had a life long love of baking as well as the best home cooked meals. She likewise enjoyed playing cribbage. Growing up on the farm, she developed a passion for gardening vegetables which became a significant part of her cooking. Her upbringing made her a master painter of barns and she could lay the best stain and poly finish on a piece of furniture you have ever seen.Rose is survived by Richard, her loving husband of 53 years, her daughter Mary (Terry) Derosier and son Paul (Theresa) Martinson, as well as her five grand children: Anne Marie, Mark, and Grace Derosier and Alexander and Michelle Martinson. She was preceded in death by an infant son, her parents Emily and Charles, as well as her four siblings: Chester, Robert, Fern, and Lillie.Funeral service will be Saturday December 10th at 11am at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in St. Cloud, MN with a luncheon to follow. There will be a visitation at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Detroit Lakes, MN.Memorials for Rose can be sent to the family or to CurePSP directly at
