Randall Seth McGilberry, 41, of Southside, Alabama, passed on October 20, 2020. Randall was born on July 26, 1979 in Omaha, NE, but is a native of Mobile, AL. Seth is survived by his parents Randy and Roxie McGilberry; sisters Britani (Kevin) Blackburn and Payton McGilberry; his 3 nephews Oliver, Jasper and Sebastian; 2 nieces Poppy and Claudia. Seth attended Mobile Christian School in Mobile, AL from 1st grade until he graduated in 1997. He continued his education at Auburn University, where he was part of the baseball program. He pursued his career in baseball for several years. Seth served in the Military from 2005-2007. He was a part of the Alpha Company 1-18 Infantry "Wolfpack." He was then stationed in Germany, training as a gunner. He loved his country and served it well. He was honorably discharged in 2007. He then studied Geology and was a research assistant at University of South Alabama. In 2014, finding his true calling, Seth graduated as President of his class as a corrections officer for the State of Alabama. He had been serving as a corrections officer at Saint Clair Correctional Facility for the past seven years.Seth loved music. He loved writing. He was an artist and expressed himself through words and tattoos. He enjoyed baseball and was an avid Auburn fan. He loved his family. He was a loyal son, protective brother and a cherished uncle. Being Uncle Seth was one of his proudest accomplishments. He loved those babies fiercely. He was a dedicated friend and others craved his presence and contagious personality. Seth embodied what it meant to serve others and he did it well. He treated everyone as equals and rarely spoke ill of anyone. He was a light, the life of the party and the one who lifted others up when they were down. His smile was bright and his heart was pure. He was one of the good ones and will truly be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.A memorial service celebrating Seth McGilberry will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at 2:30pm in Harrison Stadium on Mobile Christian School campus in Mobile, AL. 5900 Cottage Hill Rd. Mobile, AL 36609.Visitation immediately following memorial to pay respects to family will be held in the Marciel Harrison Sports Complex.*In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at https://www.facebook.com/donate/806004659945084/?fundraiser_source=external_url. Funds raised will go to the Alabama Corrections Officers Association for PTSD awareness and support.
