We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Phyllis Stansfield, who was born on October 29, 1939, in Greeneville, Tennessee, United States. She peacefully departed this world on January 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Phyllis was the beloved daughter of Clyde Clifford Brooks Sr. and Elvie Simpson Slater. In 1963, she married the love of her life, Donald James Stansfield Jr., with whom she shared a beautiful life and raised two children, Terri Brooks Stansfield and Donald James Stansfield III (spouse Tanna Lee Stansfield). Phyllis was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Phyllis attended Greeneville High School and later continued her studies at Tusculum College. She had a passion for education and dedicated her career to teaching. She was a respected educator and made a positive impact on the lives of countless students.
In addition to her work in education, Phyllis also took great pride in her involvement with the Jacetts organization, where she volunteered her time to support those in need. Beyond her professional and charitable endeavors, Phyllis enjoyed spending her free time playing golf and bridge with friends.
Phyllis will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and generosity that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Though her physical presence is no longer with us, Phyllis will forever reside in the hearts of her family and friends. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
