Libo , Libby B.Mrs. Libby Barolsky Libo of Stamford, Connecticut, formerly of Brooklyn, N.Y., died peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 6, 2016. Mrs. Libo was born on August 7, 1929 in Patterson, N.J., the daughter of Yetta and Meyer Barolsky. She was a graduate of Emerson College in 1951 with a B.A. in Speech Therapy. From 1951-1952 she worked as a speech therapist for children with cerebral palsy. She married Dr. Hersh William Libo, M.D. in 1952 and moved to Manhattan Beach, Brooklyn in 1953 after her husband was discharged from the U.S. Navy. She was involved in many philanthropic endeavors during her life, including the presidency of the Manhattan Beach chapter of Hadassah and participation in the Manhattan Beach Garden Club.She was an avid tennis, golf and bridge player. She and Dr. Libo moved to Stamford in 2004 and they traveled the world after his retirement in 1993.She was a devoted wife of 63 years to her husband, Hersh, who preceded her in death in 2015; a loving mother to her three children: daughter Sheryl (Max) of Playa del Carmen, Mexico; son David (Miriam) of Los Angeles, California; and late son Andrew (Jean) of Larchmont, N.Y., as well as 8 grandchildren, one great-grandson and many cousins, nieces and nephews and good friends. She will be greatly missed. The Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street, Stamford has been entrusted with the arrangements.
