Kathleen TuckerKnoxville, TNKathleen H. Tucker, age 90, of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016. Mary "Kathleen" Hayes was born on January 15, 1926 in Crab Orchard, Tennessee, the daughter of Asa and Nellie Mae Hayes. Kathleen graduated from Rule High School in 1945 and worked at S.H. Kress & Co. in downtown Knoxville on Gay Street, and later at Fulton Sylphon. She was married to Ira H. Tucker Jr., whom she met while on a bus ride home from work at Kress's, from 1946 until his passing in 2011. Kathleen was a member of First Baptist Church, Dandridge, TN. She was a talented artist and particularly enjoyed china painting. Kathleen loved ballroom dancing with her husband. She was preceded in death by her parents, Asa and Nellie Mae Hayes; husband, Ira H. Tucker, Jr.; brothers, Ridley Hayes, Clifford Hayes, and Everette Hayes; and sisters, Margie Cutshaw and Marie Repass. Kathleen is survived by her two sons, David Tucker (Vicki) and Mark Tucker (Carol); a daughter, Sheryl Wilson; grandsons, Michael Tucker and Kevin Tucker; granddaughters, Marcie Buckner (Jeremy), Rachel Tucker, and Katherine Tucker; and two great-grandsons, Wyatt and Sawyer Buckner. There will be a graveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery, 4500 Woodlawn Pike, Knoxville, TN 37920, on Thursday morning, November 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Kathleen's family will receive friends Thursday evening, November 10, 2016 from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Rose Mann Mortuary, 6200 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919. A celebration of Kathleen's life will follow at 7:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Richard Hobbs. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Sara Rae Aguero, Carolyn Baird, and the rest of the dedicated staff at Autumn Care Assisted Living in Karns, where Kathleen resided in her final years. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Kathleen's name may be made to The Pat Summitt Foundation
