Johnny Harris was born in Jacksonville Mississippi on July 31, 1946, to the parents of Dan Harris and Mary Moore Harris, who preceded his death. He was the fourth of six children. Johnny accepted Christ at an early age. After his beloved mother passed away when he and his siblings were very young. Johnny’s father and siblings moved to Maywood, Illinois. Johnny attended Proviso High School. From their Johnny worked hard to take care of his family, he retired from The Standard Parking Garages Companies, Chicago, IL. He married the love of his dreams at an early age and out of their union they had six children. Florence Harris who preceded him in death in 2017. Daughter’s ,Maria Jenkins-Harris Diana Harris. Have also proceeded their father in death. Johnny was a family man who loved his children unconditionally. Johnny was known for his sharp tone when needed, and to mention his culinary skills. Johnny and his wife loved to travel fish camp they would pack their six kids in the car and visit every relative no matter where they lived. In his world, there was only him and his pride and joy “Florence” and yes, the kids. And, sometimes “Oh Yeah”, the kids knew they got on their nerves but, no matter what they were their kids. Johnny was preceded in death by his siblings: Virgie Robert, Jerry, Leroy, and Henry. After a loving and rewarding life. God called him home to rest on February 19, 2025. He leaves to cherish in his memories his five children: Angie (Paul) White, Katherine Harris, Yolanda (Esly) Scott, Dan (Jessica) Harris Cassandra Harris(Phillip). His Brother: Willie of Washington, D.C., his cousins Pearline, Jennie and Sister-in-law Lillian E. Mitchum, Brother-in-law Richard Edwards and Thais Edwards.
