Pace, JerryLong time Rowayton resident Gerald "Jerry" Iver Pace passed away peacefully Saturday night surrounded by his loving family. At 6' 5", Jerry's impressive stature was matched by his abundant capacity for kindness, gentleness, generosity and humor.Jerry was born on May 1, 1956 in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Gordon and Elizabeth Pace. He earned a BA in Psychology from SUNY New Paltz and a Master's in Psychology from Long Island University. Jerry's deep compassion for others found lifelong expression in his work. For 35 years, Jerry served as a Psychologist in several branches of New York State's Office of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities.His greatest joy was spending vacation time with his wife Karen and sons Kevin and Jimmy. Jerry also loved to sing and shared his talents singing in the Rowayton United Methodist Church choir.In addition to Karen, his wife of 25 years, and their sons Kevin and Jimmy, Jerry is survived by his mother-in-law Frances O'Connor; his brother Ronald Pace; his aunt Dorothy Dietz and his cousins Anna, Christian and Lisa.A Memorial Service will be held on October 29, 2016 at 2 p.m. at The United Church of Rowayton located at 210 Rowayton Avenue. In lieu of flowers, Jerry's friends have established the Pace Family Memorial Fund to help support educational expenses.
