Jerry Lewis Knight, Sr.Clarksville, TNJerry Lewis Knight, Sr., 81, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Tennova Healthcare of Clarksville.Jerry was born on January 26, 1936, in Warren County, VA to the late John Isaac Knight and Juanita Burner Knight.He was also preceded in death by his brother, Arthur Knight.Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, May 26, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel, with Pastor Gary Akins officiating. Burial will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West in Hopkinsville, KY with full military honors. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2017, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday, May 26, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.Jerry was a Retired Sergeant First Class with the U.S. Army. During his military career, he served 13 years with the 1st Battalion 3rd Infantry at Fort Myer, VA, did a tour in Japan with the 1st Calvary Division and the United Nations Far East 8th Army Honor Guard for 3 years, served in Vietnam with the 1st Infantry Division for a year, and served in Korea for a year. He retired from the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Fort Campbell, KY in 1975. He also retired from Texgas Corporation and Suburban Propane.Jerry is survived by his wife, Joyce Alice Carte Knight of Clarksville, TN; five sons, Ricky L. Knight (Rita), Johnnie R. Knight, Jerry L. Knight, Jr. (Lacey), Raymond L. Knight (Cindy), and Charles R.
