GLEN MILLS, Pa. - Gloria Elaine Seagraves died peacefully on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016 surrounded by family. Mrs. Seagraves was born on May 21, 1932 in Linwood, Pa., the daughter of the late Jack and Blodwen (Price) Davies. Elaine married the love of her life, Albert E. Seagraves, Jr., on Sept. 15, 1951 and the couple later settled in Bethel, Pa., where they provided a loving haven for three grateful sons. In addition to being a world class mom, Mrs. Seagraves served as a Teacher's Aide at the Francis Harvey Green Elementary School where her kind heart and hugs touched the lives of many children. In 1985 she and Al retired to the beautiful home they built together in Rehoboth Beach, where they experienced the joys of grandparenthood unabated. In addition to hosting fish fries and other family events at the beach, Elaine and Al traveled extensively with notable trips to Wales and a self-guided cross country adventure to Alaska. In all, they enjoyed 55 years of marriage. Elaine's love and devotion to her family was boundless, though she often remarked that there must be a special place in heaven for the mother of three boys. She was later rewarded with the blessing of 10 grandchildren. Her greatest joy was the time she spent with them - followed by her love of chocolate. We are forever grateful to have known her love and kindness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Blodwen; her beloved husband, Al; and sister, Joyce (Davies) Cullen, of Upland, Pa. Elaine is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Albert E. and Debra J. Seagraves, III, of Burlington, N.C.; Richard J. and Deborah M. Seagraves, Sr., of Milford, and Jeffrey T. and Carolyn S. Seagraves, of Thornbury, Pa.; a sister Beverly(Davies)Thurston, of Drexel Hill, Pa.; and brother, Richard Davies, of Danville, Pa..; 10 grandchildren, Cheri, Skip, Chad, Richard, Andrew, Rosie, Annie, Dylan, Nathan and Lily; and nine great-grandchildren, Adell, Beckett, Edward, Monico, Evelyn, Henry, Charles, Carter and Jackson. Friends and relatives may call between 7 and 9 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016 at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, Pa. The visitation will resume at the same location on Monday, Nov. 14, 2016 at 10 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
