Gilbert Hartness, 22, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 14, 2021. Gilbert was born on June 06, 1998. He was 22 years old.

At an early age, teachers and fellow students recognized Gilbert’s innate intelligence. He made very good grades while attending high school at Olathe East. He was very social and loved to make people laugh. He was also very athletic. Gilbert played many sports in both middle school and high school. He was a team captain of his football team and was always very competitive. However Gilbert always made sure to encourage others and showed admirable leadership skills on and off the field. 

Gilbert requested that there be no in-person gatherings held in his honor at this time. Instead, his family requests that you visit his social media pages and leave messages of support there. 

Gilbert will be deeply missed by friends and family and will never be forgotten. Please feel free to share any good memories you have with Gilbert as it’s a hard time for all of his loved ones. 

Gilbert is survived by his Mom, Dad, Aunt, and older sister. A private funeral will be held at a later date.
