Life and Legacy

July 23, 1942 marks the beginning of a well-lived life for Mr. George Tolliver. \"Bobby Chief\", as he was so affectionatelay called, was a resident of Peterman, Al. A loved son, he was born to, and raised by Elnora Burns, John Monroe Stanton and Elmore Davison. He grew up and lived in Monroe County his entire life, where he was educated in the Monroe County Training School. George began working at an early age. George married in 1962 his adoring wife and began his large family. He later became an active member of Amity Missionary Baptist Church where he continued his longtime love of music and singing. His favorite scripture was the 23rd Psalms; he often repeated in confidence of his Savior.

On Tuesday, November 3, 2020, George \"Bobby\" Tolliver, decided to trade his Earthly body for his Heavenly wings. He quietly drifted off to rest in the arms of the Lord. He is preceded in death by his mother, his wife, Geraldine (Booker) Tolliver; and two sons, George Henry Tolliver and William Clinton Tolliver.

He leaves many beloved family members to cherish an abundant amount of memories: eight loving children: Belinda Tolliver of Huntsville, Al, Will A. Tolliver of College Station, TX, Cleo (Janice) Tolliver of Peterman, Al, Curtis Tolliver of Montgomery, Al, Kelvin (LaSharon) Tolliver of Beatrice, Al, Wanda Sturdivant if Monroeville, Al, Estrella (Reeko) Williams of Madison, Al, Stephen (Tammie) Tolliver of Mobile, Al; one sister and two brothers; Janie Stewart of Gautier, Ms and Jimmy Stanton and Leonard Stanton of Peterman, Al; twenty-two grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
