Birdo LassiterJackson, TNMrs. Birdo Lassiter, 97 of Jackson passed away on Monday June 19, 2017. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday June 21, 2017 at 1:00 pm in the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with Bro. Gerald Smith officiating. A private committal will be held at Highland Memorial Gardens.Birdo was born on June 12, 1920 in Bemis, TN to the late Ellis and Nellie Beulah King Pipkin. She was a longtime member of Madison Baptist Church teaching Sunday School for over 40 years. She enjoyed her work, her home, and family. She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club, and the Madison Hall Community Club. She was an avid fan of the TN. Vols Women's Basketball.Other than her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Bill Lassiter and a grandson Jonathan Davis.She is survived by a son; Sebron (Mary Evelyn), a daughter; Judy Mitchell (Charles),3 grandchildren, 6 greatgrandchildren ,and 4 great greatgrandchildren. The family would also extend a special thanks to the staff, and caregivers of Bells Nursing Home for their loving support of Mother.Memorial Contributions may be directed to Madison Baptist Church in Memory of Birdo Lassiter.A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 1:00 pm in the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons.
