Anthony M. "AV" VariAGE: 53 • WilmingtonAnthony Michael Vari "AV" 53, of Wilmington, DE. passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 19th, 2016. Anthony was born on October 7, 1963 in Chester, PA. He attended St. Helena's parochial school and St. Mark's and Mount Pleasant High Schools. Anthony was a skilled carpenter and successful home builder in Wilmington for many years. He enjoyed many years of training in long distance running and cycling, and treasured his lifelong friends that were made during those outings. His hard work and determination paid off as he competed in and completed the Iron Man World Championship Triathlon in Kailua, Hawaii in 1997. Amid life's struggles, Anthony never lost his love for his family or his faith in God. May he Rest in Peace. Anthony is survived by his loving parents Anthony and Joan Vari; his three children, Grace, Mason, and Samantha, whom he adored, and their mother Karen Caputo: his sister, Lisa Sweeny and her husband Rich and his brother Christopher: his nephew and nieces, Connor and Gillian Sweeny, and Carter Vari and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom will remember Anthony with love in their hearts. Family and friends are invited to visit Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4701 Weldin Rd, Wilmington, DE 19803 on Tuesday, October 25th, 2016 from 9:00am to 11:00am.
