Zoraida Gonzalez, born on October 5, 1950, in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025, in Spring Lake, North Carolina. She was 74 years old.

A devoted mother and beloved matriarch, Zoraida leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience. She is survived by her four children: daughters Lucy Gonzalez and Lissette Gonzalez, and sons Jose Gonzalez and Andre Gonzalez. Her family continued to grow through the generations, blessing her with 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life.

Zoraida found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She had a deep love for gardening, nurturing plants with the same care and patience she gave to her family. She also enjoyed the quiet challenge of crossword puzzles, often spending peaceful hours solving them with determination and grace.

Though she spent her later years in North Carolina, Zoraida’s heart always remained tied to her birthplace. In accordance with her wishes, she will be returned to her homeland of Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico—a place that held cherished memories and deep roots.
