Wriddit Frazier Sr., beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, better known as “Gabby” to his close friends and family, passed away peacefully at the age of 85 on October 6, 2024, in Brooklyn, New York.
Born on August 7, 1939, to the late Willy and Lula Frazier, Wriddit grew up in a close-knit family with six siblings, where he learned the values of kindness, compassion, and hard work. He dedicated his life to his family, his career as a NYPD police officer for twenty years, and his passion for cooking. He married his wife, Rosetta, on March 9, 1957, and together they built a family of six.
Outside of his careers and family, Wriddit was known for his love of fishing, cooking, and old-school jazz music. He was a well-known member of his community—a man you could depend on, helping those in need and being the voice of reason in challenging times. His unwavering faith and dedication to God were an inspiration to everyone who knew him.
Wriddit is survived by his four children: Dorine, Gary, Anthony, and Wriddit Jr. (Katisha); his eleven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosetta Frazier; and his four sisters and two brothers: Annie-Ruth, Cindy, Mary, Caretha, James, and Monte-Lee.
