Willis BakerWillis G. Baker, age 90, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 14th. Willis was born on November 24th, 1926 in Butler, Missouri, to Edgar L. Baker and Mary Deems Baker. After graduating from high school in Butler, he served in the Army Air Force during WWII. After his military service, he attended Oregon State University in Corvallis. He was the loving husband of 63 years to Donna Jones Baker, who survives.He retired from Chevron Oil Corporation in Denver after 30 years of employment. He was a 32nd degree Mason for over 50 years and a member of King's Way United Methodist Church. Upon retiring, Willis enjoyed traveling, miniature modeling, landscaping and spending time with his family and friends.Willis was preceded in death by his parents, brother Edgar Baker, Jr. and his wife Marcia, niece Keri Baker Jones and nephew Kendell Baker. In addition to his wife Donna, he is survived by a brother Darrell Baker and wife Judy, sister-in-law Rosalee Wood, nephew Robert Jones and nieces Karen Gibson, Janis Whitfield, Karel Black, Janet Robl, Paula Cain and Tamra Olson, as well as many great nieces and nephews.After a private family service, a visitation will be held at King's Way United Methodist Church on Tuesday, April 18th, at 2:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to King's Way United Methodist Church, 2401 South Lone Pine, Springfield, the , 2626 East Battlefield Road, Springfield, or to a .
