Willie James Jenkins, age 71, of Madison, Mississippi, passed away on May 23, 2025. He was born on April 3, 1954, in Madison, Mississippi to the late Earlene and Terry Jenkins.

Willie married his late wife, Marilyn Jenkins, in the year 1985. Together they had two children, Tracey Jenkins and Shanneka Jenkins Blackshear. He also leaves behind three beloved grandchildren: Quontavious Jenkins, Anthony and Kanijah Blackshear.

Willie attended Callaway High School and graduated in 1971. He went on to further his education at Alabama State University, graduating in 1975 with a B.S. Biology and M.S. Biology.. Willie dedicated his career to working at Alabama State University as a Professor up until July 2024.

In his free time, Willie enjoyed fishing, teaching, and welding. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
