Honoring the life of Willie Charles Washington

Willie Charles Washington was born September 19, 1928 in Lake Providence, Louisiana to the union of the late Rennie Washington and Matilda Morehouse. Early in life, he accepted Christ as his Savior.

He came to Fort Worth, Texas in 1948. He served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953.

Willie met the lovely Catherine Brown, and they married June 17, 1950. A happy loving couple reared 3 sons.

Brother Washington was a longtime member of Rising Star Baptist Church, where he served as a member of the Chosen Generation, Men's Ministry and Usher Board Two.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents, wife Catherine Washington; son James Edward Washington; sisters Ernestine Hall and Christine Clay and grandson Antoine Washington Jr.

He is cherished forever in memory by his sons, Ira John Brown and Rev. Antoine Washington Sr. (Evelyn); brothers, Clarence and Charlie Clay; sisters, Ella Mays, Carolyn Bush and Vanilla Garett (Wllie), 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 1 great- great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives and friends.
