COLUMBUS GROVE — William N. Witteborg, II, age 70, died at 9:49 am, on Saturday, November 5, 2016, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.
He was born on August 28, 1946 in Lima, Ohio to William N. and Arline M. (Harriman) Witteborg, Sr.. They both preceded him in death.
On December 31, 2008 he married Linda Wright Miller, who survives in Columbus Grove. He had previously been married to Susan Miller Witteborg with whom he had two children.
Bill is survived by one son: Jon (Tina) Witteborg of Columbus Grove; one daughter: Mick (Doug) Bellman of Columbus Grove; three stepchildren: W.D. (Tina) Miller of Ottoville, Samantha (Lee) Brown of Loveland, CO and Natalie Miller of Holland; grandchildren: Paige, Jordan and Brayden Bellman; Lauren, Sydney and Lia Witteborg; Carson and Kamryn Miller; and one sister: Kristen (Dennis) Palte of Columbus Grove. Uncle Bill was loved very much by his niece and nephews: Scott (Amber) Palte, Stephani (Eric) Fortman and Steve (Morgan) Palte.
Bill was a graduate of Columbus Grove High School, class of 1964, after which he attended Ohio Northern University. He was the owner of Witt-Gor Displays along with his father, where they manufactured carpet and ceramic tile displays, which they shipped thru out North America. He was a member of the former Presbyterian Church of Columbus Grove, where he had been an Elder and served on many committees. He then joined the Columbus Grove Christian Church.
He enjoyed the hobby of building and flying radio controlled airplanes. He was an excellent woodworker, and enjoyed making items for the home, office, and for friends. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed watching NASCAR, liked to play online poker and an OSU football fan. Bill was an avid Columbus Grove sports fan, especially loved watching his children and grandchildren participating in the different sports.
Bill was always known for his friendly smile, big heart and his happy whistle.
Services will begin at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at the Columbus Grove Christian Church. Pastor Rich Rakay will be officiating, with burial at Truro Cemetery, Columbus Grove.
Family and friends may call from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00pm, on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, and from 10:00-11:00 am, on Wednesday at the Columbus Grove Christian Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Putnam County EMS, Columbus Grove Fire Department and EMS, or the Columbus Grove Athletic Boosters.
