William S.AGE: Adams, Jr. •William S. Adams, Jr. 69, passed away peacefully at his home in Berlin Center with his wife Mary at his side on January 8, 2017. He was born on October 22, 1947 in Millville, New Jersey, the son of William S. Adams, Sr. and Betty V. Perkins. Bill grew up in New Jersey and was a high school graduate of Millville High School. After High School graduation in 1966 he enlisted in the
United States Marine Corps. He was a Corporal and drove Amtrac in Vietnam. He was well-decorated and having been wounded twice, was a
Purple Heart recipient. Upon coming home from Vietnam he worked in a glass factory in Millville, New Jersey as a glass blower. He later worked as a journeyman brick-layer and professional long haul truck driver. He worked for several companies as a truck driver, including Schneider and Ligon Landstar both in New Jersey and the Youngstown area before becoming an owner operator with several tractor trailers and drivers. Bill also did home improvements, remodeling, and one of a kind brick mailboxes in our local area. He could fix anything and was knowledgeable and skilled in a host of ways. Bill was an outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. He enjoyed spending time at his hunting cabin in West Virginia, which he shared with his sister and brother-in-law who live in Millville, New Jersey. Bill's jovial personality could immediately light up a room. His sense of humor made everyone laugh and smile. He loved his family and he loved people. Bill was an organ donor, and as a donor will be helping others still. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Theodore C. Adams. He leaves behind his wife of 24 years, Mary K. (Burke) Adams, whom he married December 5, 1992; sister, Donna L. Ludlam (Ed); his children, William, Jodi, and Mary Adams, from his first wife, Angie; as well as Nicole Fleisher (Mike) from his second wife, Mary Adams. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. James Catholic Church in North Jackson, on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM, where family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Inturnment will take place at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio at a later date. Memorials may be made to either: Ohio AmVets, 1395 E. Dublin-Granville Rd., Suite 222, Columbus, Ohio 43229, or to Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, in Bill's honor.
