DALLASTOWN William L. Goodling, 72, died Saturday, October 17, 2015, at his home following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Joanne E. (Lehman) Goodling, with whom he celebrated a 52nd wedding anniversary this past February 23rd. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the Codorus Church of the Brethren, 1129 Dunkard Valley Road, Dallastown, (Route 214, 1 mile east of Loganville), with his pastor, the Rev. Rick Fischl, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Viewings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Codorus Church of the Brethren. Mr. Goodling was born on January 12, 1943, in Glen Rock, a son of the late Russell E. and Dora E. (Strausbaugh) Goodling. He graduated in 1960 from Susquehannock High School and worked with McMillian Construction prior to working at AMP, Inc. where he was employed as a supervisor and mold mechanic for over 30 years until his retirement. He also worked for Sam Keeney Organ and Piano Center and following his retirement he worked for Leo Kiem Landscaping, True Value Hardware in Loganville and had farmed in the Shrewsbury and Springfield Township areas. Bill was a member of the Codorus Church of the Brethren where he was a Sunday School Teacher, served on many committees and did service work through the church and at New Windsor Service Center. He was also a life member of the Early American Steam Engine and Old Equipment Society, Inc. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Michael L. Goodling and wife Cynthia and Jeffery L. Goodling and wife Teresa, all of Dallastown; three stepgrandchildren, Andy Anderson and wife Samantha of York, Ryan Anderson and wife Sara of Lancaster, and Erica Gottuso and husband Bill of York; five step great-grandchildren, Logan Anderson, Paisley Anderson, Landen Anderson, Jaxon Gottuso, and Ethan Anderson; two brothers, Glenn L. Goodling of Liberty, and Kenneth L. Goodling of Glen Rock. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Codorus Church of the Brethren, 1129 Dunkard Valley Road, Dallastown, PA 17313; or to SpiriTrust Lutheran Home Care & Hospice, 1651-A Mt.
