William James "Jim" Taylor, 82, passed away due to an illness on September 15, 2008 at The VA Hospital in Gainesville. He was born on December 13, 1925, in Ft. Myers, Florida to the late, Mr. William Jackson Taylor and the late Mrs. Mary Zetta Hodges Taylor. Mr. Taylor was a World War II Veteran of the United States Navy where he served as a Y3C in the Pacific from 1943 to 1946. Mr. Taylor retired as an Insurance Supervisor with CongerLife Insurance in 1986. He leaves behind to cherish his memory - his loving wife of 22 years, Gayle Butler Taylor of Lake City; his daughter, Deb Taylor (Dennis) Beattie, of Tennessee; Three (3) Grandchildren, Shera, Steven & Dennis; Two (2) Great Grandchildren, Caleb & Lacey; his Wife's Five (5) children, Patricia, of Jupiter, Florida, Jeffrey, of Ft. Myers, Florida, Glen, of Kingsland, Georgia, Joyce, of Liberty, Tennessee, and Gary, of West Palm Beach, Florida. Mr. Taylor's hobbies were Fishing, Football, & Visiting with many cousins every year at the Old Home Stead of his Grandmother, in Donalsonville, Georgia. At this time, Cremation & Memorial Service plans are pending. Mr. Taylor will forever be loved and missed.
