William Frederick Lampe, age 99, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away Sunday, October 6th, 2019, at his home.
William was born at his home in Berlin, Germany on April 20th, 1920 to Fritz and Gerda Lampe. He grew up in Berlin, graduating from Berlin Education Facility with the class of 1936 and later Berlin University with a major in finance. On November 7th, 1942 William was united in marriage to Monika Lampe in the Berlin Marriage Counsel, Germany. This union was blessed with one child, Franz. William spent his early 20's in the military being drafted in 1936 and being discharged in 1945, he later became a musician and sang songs in Germany for 18 years before moving to the US with his son and opening a small claims insurance company, owning the business for 56 years, never retiring. He loved his Child, Grandchildren, Nephews, Nieces, and even Great Grandchildren. He was noted as a generous man by close relatives and friends, frequently giving presents to people he didn't know around the holiday season, donating to homeless shelters and children's hospitals, and helping his employees out in a tight squeeze. William's Legacy will live on in his WWII memorabilia, generosity, and a vast collection of firearms. His family was his greatest source of pride and joy. She will be missed for his sense of humor and generous heart. He always put others ahead of himself even as he faced his own health struggles.
He was preceded in death by his father Fritz Lampe (November 4th, 1942), his mother Gerda Lampe (December 2nd, 1942), his brother Adolf Lampe (March 3rd, 1939), his son Franz Lampe (August 21st, 2005), and his sister Deborah Lampe (September 9th, 2019).
William is survived by his grand-daughter Nichole Nelson, his great-grandchild Ryan Nelson, His niece Melissa Danial, and his Grandchild In-Law Stephen Nelson.
Open Casket Funeral Service will be held in Olathe Kansas on Saturday, October 12th, 2019. As a special request from William, only funny stories being told at the service.

He will be buried in the Berlin WWII Veterans Cemetary in Germany.
