William (Bill) E. EssexNEW CONCORD: William (Bill) E. Essex, 75, of New Concord passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, October 5th. He was born on August 12th, 1941 in Hemlock, Ohio to Ernest and Mary (Sanders) Essex. He retired from Rockwell International of Newark, Ohio, and was the Founder and Co-owner of the Essex Auto Body, New Concord, Ohio. He was active with several Churches of Christ in the area including the N. 10th & Clairmont, New Concord, and Stop 9 churches. He served as an Elder and Lay Minister. He was a man of faith who was willing to share the gospel with those who would listen. He set a fine moral example for his children and family. He loved to spend time sharing conversations and stories with his friends. Along with that, he enjoyed sharing his avid enthusiasm of automobiles and collector cars. He was a loving and committed husband to his wife, Shirley (Siler) Essex, who preceded him in death on January 12th, 2014. Their marriage was one of mutual respect and devotion based on the foundation of their faith.He is preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father-in-law, and his loving wife of 52 years, Shirley Essex. He is deeply missed by his son, Brett (Melissa) Essex of New Concord, Ohio; and his daughter, Teresa Mary Essex, of his home. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister and brother-in-law, Marlene (Douglas) Parker of Louisa, Kentucky, his brother-in-law, Dr. Jeff (Sherri) Siler of Aiken, South Carolina; brother-in-law Troy Prewitt of Corbin, Kentucky, and sister-in-law, Linda (Kenneth) Anderson of Williamsburg, Kentucky; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and his cherished extended church family.Visitations will be held from 4 to 8PM on October 9th at the Farus Funeral Home in New Concord, with a second viewing from 10 to 11AM on Monday the 10th at the New Concord Church of Christ where the funeral services will begin at 11AM. Evangelist Woody Biggs and Evangelist Mark Beros will be officiating; with burial taking place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery following services. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Potter Children's Home and Family Ministries, 2350 Nashville Rd, Bowling Green, KY 42101.
