Wayne Earl Harris of Tawas City, formerly of Bay City, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014 at Saginaw St. Mary's Hospital, age 71 years. Wayne was born on July 1, 1943 in Otisville to Earl and Alta (Anderson) Harris. After his high school graduation, he worked as a truck driver and a farmer for many years, until his retirement. Those who knew Wayne will remember how he loved working with his model trains, watching NASCAR racing and reading good books. He married his best friend, Della (Nichols) Harris, on March 21, 1969, and together they celebrated 45 beautiful years of marriage. Wayne is survived by his beloved wife, Della Harris of Tawas City; two loving children, Sophia (Roland) Bugh of Tawas City and Allan (Connie) Harris of Springfield, Mo.; three step grandchildren; two brothers, Rick (Jackie) Lytle of Many, La. and Milton (Jody) Edmonds of Whittemore; two sisters, Victoria (Walter) Dropting of Pinconning and Sharlene (Joseph) White of Many, La.; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Wayne was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Harris; his mother, Alta Anderson; and a step father, Milton Edmonds Sr. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Monday, Jan. 5 at 11 a.m. at Zion Church along East M-55 in Prescott with Pastor Kevin Switzer officiating.
