Walter “Pop” William Miller, Jr. 74, died Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at home from his battle with Pancreatic cancer. In hospice care prior to his death, Pop died peacefully with Venus and Debbie at his bedside.
Pop was born in Brunswick, Georgia on October 19, 1945. He graduated from Risley High School in 1963. He was a life long member and baptized at Saint Paul Baptist Church. His first job was in Miller's Barber Shop along side his father. He then went on to work with the International Longshoreman Association “ILA Local 1423” Brunswick Georgia and retired in 2004. Pop enjoyed fishing and gambling "Hog Pin". He was a helping hand in the community and to his friends, neighbors and family.
Pop is survived by his companion Loretta Gibbons of Brunswick, GA; Children Venus Miller Addison, Deborah Miller Walker and husband Terry, Richard Nixon Jr and wife Sabrina, Sanita Nixon, and Zion Miller, Michael "Fresh" McDuffie (loved as a son), sister Catherine Florence-Butler, Grandchildren Troyisha Addison, Ryan Addison, Kristin Walker, Michael Addison, Xavier Nixon, Shaniqua Nixon, Tyler Addison, Zachary Addison, Jalen King, Richard "Rudy" Nixon III and Jaleere Nixon, Great grandchildren London Addison, Landon Bostic, Khloe Addison and Cooper Walker. A host of nieces and nephews. Close friends Jamie Baker, John Freeman, Chester Mackey, Barry Sanford. He is preceded in death by his father Walter William Miller, Sr., mother Catherine Sims Miller, sister Earlene Miller Williams and brother Marvin Lee Miller Sr.

Details: All friends and members of the community are invited to join the Miller family on Saturday, May 23, 2020, for a celebration of life service at LW Jackson and Family Mortuary Funeral Home at 76 Stafford Avenue, Brunswick, GA. Followed by a 2nd celebration at Mary Ross Park.
