WALTER JR. BOUKNIGHT SR.  1944 – 2026

Walter Jr Bouknight Sr was born in Baltimore, Md, on May 27,1944 to the late Louis Bouknight and Mary Lucinda Wertz. He fell asleep in death on July 31,2026 after a long illness.

Walter, or as he was well-known by his family as “Juniore”, grew up in the East Madison-Greenmount area of East Baltimore. As a young boy, he enjoyed playing at home in the company of his loving younger sisters and older brothers. He was especially passionate and most protective of his younger sisters, as he would often ‘cover’ for their mistakes and errors, not allowing them to take any blame or punishment! As a young teenager and young man, he began working with his father in the landscaping business in various communities around Baltimore and began driving trucks. Later, he temporarily became a taxicab driver in the early 1960’s. He later began working as a painter and upholsterer with Allied Chemical Company until 1985. Walter later became employed at William T. Burnette Co. working as a machine operator and helper until his retirement in 2003.

Walter was a truly loving, caring, and kind-hearted man who had a selfless and giving spirit! He embraced all whom he met! He would often spend many Sundays cooking dinners for family and friends and would lovingly be ready and eager to feed anyone who had a taste for good food! Following the pattern of his loving mom, he would never want anyone to go hungry! He enjoyed dancing, singing, laughing, and playing guitar. He also embraced traveling to visit family often in the northern and southern states and would often invite extended family members to come live with him!

He was preceded in death by his late wife, Doris Bouknight and his son, Joseph Bouknight. Walter is survived by his three sons, Walter Jr. Bouknight Jr., (Nicole Boukngiht) Earl Bouknight, Kevin Bouknight, (Shyrein Bouknight) his daughter, Michelle Goodman, his sister Elizabeth Fletcher, and six grandchildren Marva Howard-Rodriguez, (Jason Rodriguez) Sharelle Groom, Nichelle Jefferson, (Thomas Jefferson) Marvin Bouknight, (Tiffany Bouknight) Shannon Cofield, Kevona Bouknight, fifteen great-grandchildren, and a host of other nieces, nephews and friends.
