Jason J., WalkushJason J. Walkush, Anchorage Alaska, age 35 died in a light plane accident on August 23, 2017. He was returning from a large game hunt when his Piper 18A Super Cub crashed on the east side of Lake Chakachamna in Alaska. He was the pilot and lone occupant of the aircraft.A memorial service was held in Anchorage on August 29, 2017. A local memorial service, a time of sharing memories and stories, will be held on Sunday, September 24th at 1:00 p.m. at the Arnott Lion's Park, 6867 4th Street Stevens Point. Friends of Jason and their families are invited to attend.Jason was born on March 9, 1982 in Stevens Point WI to Kenneth J Walkush and Rose (Platta) Walkush, Meyer. He was married to Teresa Mattson on May 6, 2017 in Girdwood AK. She and their unborn child survive.Jason graduated from Stevens Point Area High School in 2000. He studied architecture at the
University of Minnesota from 2000 until 2003. He moved to Alaska in 2003 and graduated from the University of Alaska with B.S. Degree in Chemistry. He was currently employed by Taku Engineering of Anchorage. He was an active member of his church community Clearwater Church in Anchorage. Jason traveled five continents and visited all 50 states in his short life. He was an avid sportsman who hunted many trophy animals in North America. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, canoeing, rafting, backpacking, flying, and living life to its fullest. Jason left this world doing what he absolutely loved; flying and hunting.Jason's family and friends will miss his contagious laugh, his drive, and his ability to live in the moment. Jason never took things too seriously. Folks could always depend on him, and he valued spending time with the people he loved. Jason taught everyone in his circle of family and friends "you don't have to live forever, you just have to live".He is survived by his sister Jamie Rose Walkush of London England, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and many, many dear friends.Jason was preceded in death by his father Kenneth, Grandparents Leonard and Marge Walkush and John and Mona Platta.
