Kuschel, VirginiaWAUNAKEE/MIDDLETON-Virginia A. Kuschel, age 94 of Waunakee, passed away on Friday June 30, 2017 at Waunakee Manor. She was born on April 18, 1923, in Manitowoc, the daughter of Albert and Regina (Larson) Anderson. Virginia was united in marriage to the love of her life, Leonard Kuschel on June 12, 1948 in Manitowoc. She attended Manitowoc schools graduating from Lincoln High School. After graduation, she attended Lutheran Deaconess School of Nursing in Chicago receiving her RN in 1945. She went on to have a successful nursing career at various Madison area healthcare facilities and retired from St. Mary's Hospital at age 72. Ginny enjoyed reading, cooking, antiquing with friends, collecting ceramic cow creamers and having Christmas, Thanksgiving and other special holiday get-togethers with family and friends. Her passion was spending time with her grandchildren and giving of her time to help with family and friends in their time of need. Ginny is survived by three sons, Bruce (Theresa) of La Crescent, Minn.; Eric (Barbara) of Defiance, Missouri; Todd of Cross Plains; grandchildren, Brandon, Brittany, Alyssa (Adam); nieces and nephews, Cindy and Bill Wiedholz and their children Amanda, Matt and Audra and many other wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brothers, Harold, Vernon, Willard and Noel and sisters, Elaine and Elinor and several nephews. Ginny was a wonderful mother and person who was loved by all. She was a compassionate and very caring nurse and woman who was not afraid to help family and friends, always going out of her way to do the right thing. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am. on Friday July 7, 2017, at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave., Middleton. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens following the service. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday July 6, 2017 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., and also on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
