Virgil R. MossUTICA: A funeral service for Virgil R. Moss will be held 12pm on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Brucker Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st Street, Newark, OH 43055. Burial to follow at Wilson Cemetery, with Licking County Veteran's Alliance providing military honors. Family will greet friends for 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Virgil, age 82, of Utica passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017 at OSU James Cancer Center. He was born on June 27, 1934 to the late Albert and Frances Moss in Reedy, West Virginia. Virgil owned Moss Upholstery for 12 years, and retired from Owens Corning after 21 years. He proudly served his country as a member of the US Marine Core from 1953-1956. In his free time, he enjoyed taking care of his yard, but his true passion was woodworking.Virgil is survived by his children, Darla (James Snow) Thomas, Michael Moss, Julie Chambers, Diana Barrick, and Eric Moss; brother, Earl Moss; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; step-children, Margaret Free, Alan Roberts, Mark Roberts; step-son-in-law, George Free; and his K-9 companion, Tawny Kay.
