Victoria L. King, 72, passed away unexpectedly on April 23, 2025. She was born on January 28th, 1953 in Elkhart, IN to her late parents Maxwell King and Mary Lou King. In addition to her parents, Victoria is preceded in death by her middle son Nathan Young and her longtime partner of 21 years, Glenn Wallace. Victoria leaves behind son James Young of Elkhart, IN and grandchild Jocelyn, son Dewey (Lexi) Young of Fort Wayne, IN, and grandchild Wyatt, and sister Becky (Blake) Palmer of Edwardsburg, MI in addition to numerous cousins and close family friends.
Victoria worked for Elkhart Memorial High School in the satellite lunch program for 16 years and enjoyed making a positive impact on children's lives with every chance possible. After leaving the school, Victoria found her passion as a florist and greatly enjoyed that for 14 years until she retired from full-time work in 2020. Since retirement, Victoria enjoyed helping other seniors who needed extra help around their homes, enjoyed watching all the birds and wildlife on her 10-acre farm, enjoyed spending time with her two dogs, Dash and Derby, and grew especially close with her eldest grandchild, Jocelyn, and loved spending time with her.
The family is planning a graveside Celebration of Life Ceremony at Zion Cemetery, 53013 County Road 19, Bristol, IN 46507. As requested by Victoria, this ceremony will be for immediate family members and close friends on Thursday, May 1st from 1:30pm - 3:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Victoria's name to the Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan, 5400 S. Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI 49085.
