Veronica LaFrancaAGE: 88 • BeachwoodVeronica (Ronnie) LaFranca of Beachwood, NJ passed away peacefully at home with her family on March 24, 2017. Veronica was born on July 6, 1926 to Joseph & Regina Foy (Mulvihill) in Elizabeth, NJ. She lived in Elizabeth, NJ until her marriage to Dominick LaFranca whom she was married to for 66 years until his passing this past December. They resided on Staten Island until relocating to Beachwood in 1989. She was a cafeteria worker for many years, working at The College of Staten Island and St. John's University on Staten Island. She also worked at Crestwood Manor when she relocated to Beachwood. Her favorite and most talked about job was working with the original owner of Ralph's Ices in Port Richmond on Staten Island. Veronica was a member of the
VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Bayville, a member of the Beachwood Senior Women's Club and the Berkley Ladies Seniors Club and the St. Barnabas Alter & Rosary Society. She enjoyed the beach in her younger years, taking trips with the seniors and Atlantic City. She enjoyed cooking and baking. Even though her recipe is on paper her grandchildren said her Banana Sour Cream cake will not be the same if she's not the one making it. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years Dominick, her son Dominick Jr., granddaughter Kelly Stefanski, her sisters Rita Grandberg and Loretta Loguidice. She is survived by her children daughter RoseMary Cassissa (Joseph), sons Edward (Susan), Charles and Thomas; also her daughter-in-law Linda Stefanski and her husband John; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.Visiting hours will be Monday, March 27th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm at the Mastapeter Funeral Home, 270 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville. Funeral Tuesday, 8:30am at the funeral home before celebrating a 9:30am Funeral Mass at St. Barnabas Church, Bayville. Burial will follow to St. Peter Cemetery, Staten Island.
