On September 15, 1937, a beautiful baby girl was born to the late Pervis Cotton Sr. and Bertha Cotton in eagle Lake Tx. She was named Vera Lee Cotton. Vera confessed to Christ at a very young age and was a lifetime member of Greater Union Baptist Church. At Greater Union, she faithfully served on the Usher Board & Mission Board until she was called home.
On February 25, 1957, Vera was united in Matrimony to her loving husband John Fry Jr, and to this union, three children were born.
Vera worked at the Richmond State School for over 25 years and then became the caretaker for the late Mr. & Mrs. Brunner where she became part of the family. She was adored by many and always greeted everyone with her wonderful smile.
Sadly on March 24, 2018, in the comfort of her own home Vera entered into her eternal rest. She is preceded in death by her parents, Pervis and Bertha Cotton; and five sisters, Lula Mae Thompson, Odessa Johnson, Geraldine Vean, Clouzelle Rowland and Berthina Duncan.
She leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted husband, John Fry Jr; three loving children, Johnetta Fry, Roger Fry (Lotronda), and Ronnie Fry(Anita); eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Gloria Boykin; one brother, Pervis Cotton Jr.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
