It is with heavy hearts and bittersweet smiles that we announce the passing of Vera Robinson on August 17, 2023, in Decatur, Georgia. Born on October 17, 1932, to the proud parents Otis Reynolds and Louise Robinson, Vera brought joy and love into the lives of everyone she knew.
Vera's infectious laughter and warm spirit captivated all who crossed her path. She embraced life with a lightheartedness that emanated from her every pore. Her unwavering kindness brought solace to many and created a safe haven in her presence.
In 1963, Vera joined hands in holy matrimony with the love of her life, Elton Mozley. Together, they raised a beautiful family, blessed with three extraordinary children. Yvonne (Robinson) Thomas, Tommy Robinson, and Marcus Thomas were the pride and joy of Vera's life. She cherished them deeply and instilled in them the values of compassion and resilience.
Vera doted on her eight grandchildren, whose vibrant spirits mirrored her own. She reveled in their every triumph, offering sage advice and the occasional wink when needed. With Vera's guidance, they learned the importance of family and embraced the bonds that tied them together.
Throughout her working life, Vera found joy in her role at Embroidery for Dekalb school system. She poured her heart and creativity into her craft, contributing to the lives of countless schoolchildren through her intricate and vibrant designs. Vera's handiwork will forever be remembered and treasured by those who were fortunate enough to receive her artistry.
As we bid farewell to Vera, let us remember her boundless love, unwavering optimism, and radiant smile. She will forever be missed, but her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the Decatur Community Arts Program, a cause that Vera held dear to her heart.
