It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Velma Wilkins, a beloved mother, grandmother, and proud veteran of the Women's Army Coalition. Velma was born on May 21, 1941, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Joe Wilkins and Elnora Hull. She is survived by her four children, Nancy Redmond, Nadolyn Redmond, Yatta Rogers, and Dwyla Pearson, as well as her nine grandchildren.

Velma lived a full and vibrant life, finding joy in simple pleasures like reading, playing scrabble, and planting flowers in her garden. Her quick wit and sharp intelligence made her a formidable opponent in any game of words, and her green thumb was the envy of the neighborhood.

Unfortunately, Velma's life was cut short on January 23, 2025, when she suffered a major stroke. While we mourn her passing, we take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace and reunited with her parents.

Velma will be remembered for her fierce independence, unwavering loyalty to her family, and her determination to make the world a better place for future generations. May her memory live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
