Services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, with visitation prior from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Valerie was born on February 18, 1948 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Earl and Henrietta Wendt, she was raised mainly in Des Moines, graduating from East High in 1966.Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Jack Jackson; sons, Corey Jackson and Chris (Katie) Jackson; brothers, Mike (Marge) Wendt and Alan Wendt; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.Valerie was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Noah Wendt and Larry WendtMemorials may be directed to the Food Bank of Iowa in loving memory of Valerie.
