Tyson Dale Stockard passed away on August 15, 2017 in Lubbock, Texas following an emergency surgery. He was born on January 8, 1977 in Portales, New Mexico.He went to school in Portales until his sophomore year when he moved to Alamogordo, New Mexico where he graduated in 1996. In 1999 he moved to Ruidoso, New Mexico where he continued to reside. He was an employee of Thriftway Grocery for almost 18 years.He is survived by his parents Jim and Darlene Van Winkle of Ruidoso; his sister Tonya Hale and husband Larry of Amarillo, Texas and her children Jessi Cundiff and fiancé Mason McCullum of Canyon, Texas and Isaac Cundiff of Amarillo, Texas; a sister Holly Tate and husband Brian of Scappose, Oregon and her children Jaren Breault of Ashland, Oregon and Tesa Breault of Missoula, Montana; a brother Russ Can Winkle and wife Dedi of Albuquerque, New Mexico and sons Zane and Grant of Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and many good friends and co-workers. Among those a special friend Patsy Neely and his buddy Chad Horney.He is preceded in death by his dad Jimmie Dale Stockard and a brother Wynn Denton Stockard. Also by both paternal and maternal grandparents Harold and Toynette Stockard and Roy and Posie Wright.A memorial celebration of his life will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 10:00 am in Ruidoso at Sanctuary on the River, 207 Eagle Drive.In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Camp Sunshine, c/o Sacramento Camp and Conference Center, PO Box 8, Sacramento, NM 88347 or by phone 575-687-3414. Tyson attended this camp many years and it was very special to him.
