Torin BossmanTorin Bossman, 51 of Hurley died Saturday, June 24, 2017 after a short illness with cancer. Memorial services will be at 2:00pm Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Second Reformed Church, Lennox with burial at the Lennox Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be from 5-7pm Tuesday evening at the Hofmeister Jones Funeral Home, Parker. Torin Brady "Bucky" Bossman was born on January 27, 1966 at Canton, SD to Larry and Maxine (Ramse) Bossman. He attended school in Chancellor and graduated from Lennox High School in 1984. After working for Henry Carlson Company he learned concrete work from his uncle and did many flat concrete jobs in the Parker and Hurley area. Since moving to an acreage northwest of Hurley he went into raising sheep, renting hay ground and cutting and baling hay and later selling it. Torin loved to work on cars. He had a 1971 Chevrolet station wagon which became his goal to restore. With the help of a special friend Tim Dannen they got it going about a week ago, going on a poker run. He was very proud that he met his goal. He especially liked working on demolition derby cars. He won first place twice in the Turner County Fair Demo Derby in 1995 and again in 2016. He also liked to hunt and fish with friends. He also helped his Dad run the road grader for many years, served on the Chancellor Fire Department for several years, and enjoyed playing drums in the band "irrigators". Torin was a kind hearted man, laid back with no timetable. His family and friends will miss him dearly with his ready smile, storytelling, and genuine heart. Grateful for having shared his life are his mother Maxine; his brothers Colin (Lisa), Harrisburg, SD and Brian (Inger), Worthing, SD; his grandmother Evelyn Bossman, Sioux Falls, SD; nieces Brandy Bossman, Jennifer (John) Gabriel and their children Hunter and Carlee; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
