TOM VESELYJune 28, 1943 - September 14, 2017Dallas - Thomas "Tom" Vesely, a resident of Dallas, Oregon died on Thursday, September 14th. Tom was born on June 28, 1943 the son of Philip and Margaret Vesely. Tom grew up in Dallas and graduated from Dallas High School in 1961. He attended OIT in Klamath Falls for a time. Tom married Carol Potter and they had three children together prior to divorcing. He worked in the plywood mill at Valsetz for a number of years. Tom later worked for Willamette Industries in Dallas in the plywood division starting in 1963. He drove Jitney inside and outside the mill. Tom finished his career as a hot press operator. He retired on June 1st 2000. Tom then was hired as a Peer Advisor for the displaced Mill Workers. He helped many peers thru retraining and finding new careers. He then worked for the State of Oregon in the employment division and retired from there after 11 years. Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping as well as gardening. Tom was an avid Oregon State Beaver football fan. He has attended games for many many years. He is survived by his son, Jerry, daughter, Tanya, both of Dallas, along with aunts, Florence Nelson and Mary Hillyer, along with numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Suzie Vesely, on May 10, 2017 and his parents, Philip and Margaret Vesely.Funeral Services will be on Friday, September 22nd at 1:00PM at Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center. Visitation will be on Thursday from 9:00 - 6:00 at Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center. Interment will be in Dallas Cemetery.
