  • A life well lived

    It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thurman Lee Hamlet(NATE) born September 24,1960 in Huntsville, Alabama to the union of Annie Mae Townsend and Loyd Hamlett. Thurman passed at the age 64, on November 12, 2024 , of Clarksville, Indiana, He was known for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering dedication for his family. Thurman will be remembered for his love of sports which he loved the Louisville Cardinals basketball team, Roll tide for college football, and, NFL he loved the Raiders, he loved music ,fishing, and his passion for cooking, and his infectious laughter. Thurman was once a resident in Florida then moved back to Alabama to be closer to family, in 2015 his niece Shaneisha (Nene} then talked him to moving back to Indiana to be closer to his mom Annie Carter, which she needed him due to the of lost her late husband, his Step dad Leroy Carter in 2014. Thurman helped his mom during her time of grieving which him and his mother would stay up late laughing and crying making memories and talking about the good ole days. If Thurman sister Valerie fuss at Thurman , Annie would get on Valerie for picking with Thurman, lol such a mommas baby.


    Thurman worked at MIchaels and Ross from 2015-2019 of March until he had a stroke, they made his health decline.Thurman found out that he had a grandaughter that was his light and savior Lil Miss Mirai, she gave Thurman so much joy

    He touched the lives of many with his warmth and generosity, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Thurman will be deeply be missed, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

    Thurman was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Mae Carter (Leroy King Carter Jr) dad Loyd Hamlett, Grandparents Mary Ellen Stewart, and Johnny D Townsend, Zella Mae Hamlett, Melton Hamlett, Aunt Veronica Vance, Sister Dorothy Louise, and Brother Melvin Davis.

    He leaves to cherish his memories: He loved his Son; Thurman Lee Turner(Jasmine Turner) of Louisville, Ky; 8 Grandchildren: Jahmiar, Mirai, Nina, Kyler, Qur'ran, Jersei, Jornei, and Jace; 6 Sisters: Valerie Hamlett of Jeffersonville, In, Deanna Hamlett of Jeffersonville In, Cynthia Davis of Huntsville, Al, Sandra Grant(Dennis Grant) of Atlanta GA, Thelma Jackson of Huntsville, Al and Jaqueline Hamlett of Huntsville Al; 3 Brothers: JohnnyRay Davis(Lashon Davis) of Huntsville, Al, Melvin Davis of Huntsville, Al, and Sam Davis Jr of LA ; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
