Thomas Stephen Devitt Jr.Camarillo, CAThomas Stephen Devitt Jr. passed away on January 13th 2017 following a lengthy illness. Tom was born on January 31, 1955 in Chicago where he spent his younger days. He began his career as a carpenter where his meticulous attention to detail, expressed in all his work, soon led to a career in finish carpentry. After moving to California Tom rose to the position construction superintendent where he worked for many years. Tom was a man of many talents and an infectious enthusiasm for his many interests. He was a certified scuba diver and pilot, liked to fish, enjoyed working on cars, was an avid NASCAR fan and he absolutely loved music. In his youth, he spent many good times in jam sessions with friends on his drums. Some of Tom's happiest times were spent traveling in his fifth wheel, camping and fishing with his wife of 25 years, Wendy.Tom is survived by his daughter Josephine, son-in-law Antonio, sister Judith Johnduff (Edward), brother Timothy (Lisa) and nieces and nephews Michael, Sarah, Steven, Daniel and Stephanie. Tom was preceded in death by his wife Wendy, parents Thomas and Josephine Devitt and his sister Patricia.Our family would like to express our many thanks to the devoted staff at Community Memorial Hospital.
