Thomas "Tommy" Arlee Bell SUMMERVILLE - Thomas "Tommy" Arlee Bell, 62, of Summerville, SC, husband of Sandra Bunch Bell, entered into Eternal Rest on Tuesday, November 22, 2016. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 3:00pm in the chapel of Carolina Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends in visitation an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Tommy was born on June 25, 1954 in Charleston, SC, son of the late Thomas Arlee Bell, Sr. and the late Betty McClure Bell Palmer and stepfather Allie Curtis Palmer. He was a graduate of James Island High School and he attended Cape Fear Community College, where he studied Marine Biology, and The College of Charleston. He worked at SCE&G for the last 20 years. He was happiest when he was on the water with his family and friends; and he was especially happy when at Brays Island and watching Gamecock football. He was a member of the Hydro Hobos Water Skiing Club and part of the pit crew for the Formula One Championship Boat Racing Team. Tommy was especially proud of his daughter, Haley. He was a loving and dedicated father and husband. Tommy shared "special" closeness with his sisters and brother, and definitely loved all of his family. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Bell, daughter, Haley Bell, stepdaughter, Amy Overcash, of Summerville; sisters, Arleen Palmer, of Wilmington, NC, and Donna Samuels (Phil) of Lake Wylie, SC; brother, Curtis Palmer of Wilmington, NC; and two grandchildren, Landon Linett and Sandra Gail Overcash. Tommy was always there when you needed help of any kind. We will deeply miss him, especially his contagious smile and that "twinkle" in his eyes. Many thanks for all the loving support of family and friends and a "special" thanks to Tommy's co-workers at SCE&G. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the in Greenville, SC, or to the Tommy Bell Family Support Fund at South State Bank, PO box 118068 Charleston SC 29423.
