Ted KonuszyMarco Island , FLTed Konuszy passed away January 3, 2017 in the presence of his loving family. Ted was born on October 21, 1925 to Anna and Walter Konuszy in Harvey, Illinois. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers John, Walter, Joe and sister Helen. Ted enlisted in the Navy in November 1942 with an honorable discharge November 1946. He married his high school sweetheart, Maryanne Koppal, on February 16th, 1947. They would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on February 16th, 2017. Ted is survived by his loving wife Maryanne; daughter Corinne Stacy (Gary), his angel; granddaughter Adrianne Tranchand; grandson Ted Swietlik (Alisa); and great-granddaughter Abbi Swietlik. Ted leaves behind many close relatives and friends. Ted owned Harmony Steel Products in Posen, Illinois for 30 years. He was a member of Posen Fire Department for many years and became Fire Chief. He was instrumental in starting the Paramedic Program. Ted and Maryanne became residents of Marco Island in 1974 and full time residents since 1989.Ted was an usher at San Marco Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He became a Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator. He was also a member of the American Legion. Ted was an avid golfer all of his life.A wake will be held at Hodges Josberger Funeral Home Saturday, January 7th from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be on Sunday, January 8th at 2:00 pm at San Marco Catholic Church with burial immediately following at Marco Island Cemetery. Donations may be made in Ted's name to Avow Hospice, , or San Marco Catholic Church. Ted was a good man and will be missed.
