Sylvia Ann LochmillerSylvia Ann Lochmiller, 75, died unexpectedly at home on February 27, 2017. One of two children born to Leonard and Marie Baker of Vail, Iowa, she was born on March 24, 1941 in Denison, Iowa. Sylvia spent the first 48 years of her life in Iowa and the past 27 years in Florida where she loved the sun, warm temperatures and the soothing waters of the Gulf of Mexico.Sylvia spent her entire professional career working in healthcare with over 30 years spent working in medical records at several hospitals, including Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa, Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, Florida and Tallahassee Memorial in Tallahassee, Florida. Sylvia retired in 2006 and then spent her remaining years doing what she loved most - spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She was a huge part of their lives, traveling out of town many weekends for swim meets to cheer on her granddaughter and spending nights and weekends at basketball games cheering on her grandson. She was an incredible mother, grandmother and friend and she will be greatly missed. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Marie Baker and her son, Barry Lochmiller. She is survived by her daughter, Christine Osterlund and husband Robert of Tallahassee, her beloved grandchildren Madison and Mitchell Osterlund, her brother, Dr. Phillip Baker and his wife Betty of Topeka, Kansas and many other family members and friends.The family will receive friends at 2pm on Friday March 3, 2017 at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home - Timberlane Road Chapel and the service will follow at 3. A graveside service and interment will be held at a later date in Vail, Iowa.
