Susie "Marie" Geisler, 94Susie "Marie" Geisler, 94, of West Lafayette formally of Monticello and Idaville passed away at 11:55 pm, Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Cumberland Pointe Healthcare.Marie was born on August 30, 1920 in LaCrosse to the late James and Josephine Mae (McDonald) Nelson.She married her beloved husband Dale L. Geisler on Easter Sunday, March 24, 1940 at the old Monticello Christian Church. They had 59 years together before Dale's death on August 25, 1999.Marie was a devoted farm wife always working alongside of Dale on their farm north of Idaville, until retiring in January 1992.She attended the Idaville First Church of God.She loved being with her family. She was a wonderful cook. Her noodles were a real treat.The fact that all five of her grandchildren graduated from Purdue made her very proud. Crocheting was a hobby she really enjoyed and made each of her children and grandchildren a beautiful afghan.Surviving are her children, Ed Geisler (Sue) of West Lafayette and Connie Burget (Warren) of Lafayette; five grandchildren, Greg Burget, Julie Kelly, Jodie Bradley, Sophie Lazaro and Ed Geisler; nine great-grandchildren, Zak, Olivia, Tanner, Lauryn, Justine, Evan, Reid, Jack and Delanie; sister, Eleanor Williams; sisters-in-law, Lyda Marvin, Lucille Geisler, Elizabeth Nelson; brother-in-law, Ray Stroud.Preceding her in death are sisters, Louise Raderstorf, Betty Preston, Bernice Stroud; and brothers, Herb Nelson and Harry Nelson.Visitation will be Friday, September 12, 2014 from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home in Monticello with Rev. Keith Raderstorf of Faith Covenant Church of God, Monticello officiating.Burial will follow at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given to Idaville First Church of God or .
