Stephen Samuel HamburgerAGE: 77 • VinelandStephen Samuel Hamburger, 77, of Vineland, NJ passed away on February 7, 2017 in Voorhees, NJ. He will be dearly missed by his relatives and friends. Stephen was born on June 13, 1939 in Philadelphia, PA to his loving parents, Greta and Kurt Hamburger. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Glassboro State College. Stephen taught at Dane Barse Elementary and D'Ippolito Intermediate School, where he was honored by receiving the Teacher of the Year award. Stephen was a volunteer for many charitable causes and served on the Board of Directors at Beth Israel Congregation for many years, He devoted his life after his retirement to helping others and to his many hobbies, which included international travel, woodworking, metalworking and gardening.Stephen is survived by his cousins, Fay and Marlene Kessler, Linda, Don, Elizabeth and Robert Crews, Carole and Terence Jackson and Nicole Buchman. His family wants to extend their gratitude to all of his friends, including fellow congregants at Beth Israel.A Funeral service conducted by Rabbi Alfredo Winter will be held Friday at 10am from Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland. Friends may be received beginning at 9:30am. Interment will follow in Alliance Cemetery, Norma.
