Stella "Jean" Yeager87, died on April 3, 2017, in Westfield, Indiana. Jean was born on March 21, 1930, in Bowling Green, KY, to Burford and Violet Walden, both school teachers. In 1947, Jean fell in love with Rev. J. Richard "Dick" Yeager, the young minister of her family's United Methodist Church (UMC). They were happily married for fifty-nine years, living in Indiana, Connecticut and Tennessee.Jean is survived by their three children: Stephen (Lona), Kim (Kathy Leising), and Tami (Morgan Kelly); six grandchildren: Stephanie, Kerstin, Robert, Jacob, Rohan, and Ty; and seven great-grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dick; sisters, Ruth Bumpus and Anne Eastham; and brother, B.E. Walden, Jr.Jean served as a minister's wife for twenty-three years, performing many leadership roles. She also worked for the Southern Indiana UMC making artwork for regional conferences. She spent over ten years working as a preschool teacher at Castleton UMC Nursery School, and in TN. In addition to her great love of children, other interests were crafts, interior decorating, world travel, theatre, civil rights, and educational classes of various topics. Jean was known to be gentle, intuitive, thoughtful, artistic, and loving.Memorial service will be Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 2:00 pm, with visitation from 1-2 p.m, at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 100 W. 86th Street. Per Jean's request, her urn will be placed alongside Dick's in the Asbury UMC columbarium in Columbus, IN.Memorial contributions may be made to Still Waters Adult Day Center, Castleton UMC at
