Stella Jo Reynolds, 91, of Joplin, died at 11:49 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Mercy Hospital. Stella was born on November 16, 1928 in Springfield IL, the daughter of William Alexander and Stella Anastasia Patterson.

Stella married Peter Reynolds on October 27, 1952 at St. Joseph Catholic Church; he preceded her in death on June 19, 2006. She was employed with the State of Illinois Department of Revenue from 1979 to 1997; retiring after over 18 years of service. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She enjoyed working puzzles, watching the Chicago Cubs, and dancing. 

She was also preceded in death by her son, Thomas Edward Reynolds on April 23, 1999, her parents; sister, Ursula Morrison; and three brothers, John "Bill", William and Donald Patterson. She is survived by her four sons: John R. (Dan Little) Reynolds of Warner Robins, GA, Donald P. (Joanne) Reynolds of Springfield IL, James M. Reynolds of Springfield, IL and Joe (Amy) Reynolds of Tulsa, OK; five daughters, Barbara J. (Larry) Clasen of Joplin, MO, Joanne (Ed) O'Connor of Springfield, IL, Mary S. Austin of Athens, IL, Cathy A. (Bryan) Kaylor of Springfield, IL and Janet L. (Mark) Manzi of Rolla, MO, thirty-three grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; siblings, Charles F. (Shirley) Patterson of Springfield, IL, Michael E. (Oveda) Patterson of Springfield, IL, Mary "Maggie" Keating of Iowa City, IA, Edith (James) Bowsher of Baldwyn MS, Annie Patterson of Riverton, IL, and Eileen (Mark) Schmelzel of Sterling, IL; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2019 at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Steven Janoski, celebrant.  Burial will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetary.
