Spurgeon received his education in the Portsmouth School System, and attended I.C. Norcom High School and graduated with the Class of 1964.A viewing will be held at Ronald C. Perkins Funeral Home, 251 W. Queen St., Hampton, on Thursday November 3, 2016 from 12:00 - 6:00 p.m. The funeral will be held Friday, November 4, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Sixth Mt Zion Baptist Temple, 3100 Butternut Dr., Hampton. Interment will follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens.
